School of Music bassoon professor Ben Roidl-Ward collaborates with Dana Jessen, bassoon, Nanci Belmont, bassoon, Isidora Nojkovic, cello, and Kyle Flens, percussion to present recent works by Mexican and Mexican-American composers José-Luis Hurtado, Mathew Arrellin, and Luis Fernando Amaya.

My piece Burbujas for bassoon, cello, and percussion will be performed a second time.

Dal Niente Presents: New Music by Mexican (-American) Composers

Dal Niente Presents Ben Roidl-Ward and friends performing new chamber works by Mexican and Mexican American Composers. Presented in the beautiful May Chapel in Chicago's historic Rosehill Cemetery, this performance features four chamber works for woodwinds, strings, and percussion, including three world premieres.

PhD Recital / Album Release Show

On May 8th, I will be performing my final recital at Northwestern University, alongside ~Nois and Ben Roidl-Ward, who are great friends I’ve made along the way! I’m really excited to share this music with people.

The recital will also double as the release show for my debut album Metasomatic, which comes out on May 6, 2022 on the Records to Burn label.

The program will feature the following pieces:
